Buymanager Risk Management Module: Overview and Setup
This article provides a comprehensive guide to the Buymanager Risk Management module, explaining its purpose, benefits, prerequisites, and step-by-step setup instructions for activation.
What is the Risk Management Module?
The Buymanager Risk Management module is a feature that integrates directly with the SiliconExpert database via an API. It allows you to access critical component data within Buymanager, streamlining your risk assessment and compliance processes.
Specifically, the module provides two main types of data:
- Conformity Information: Quickly retrieve details on component compliance (e.g., RoHS, REACH, End-of-Life (EOL) status) at various stages of your deal process, such as BOM upload or costing.
- Cross-References: Search for alternative components to propose solutions to your customers, helping mitigate supply chain risks and offering flexibility.
Why Do You Need It?
Integrating SiliconExpert data directly into Buymanager offers significant benefits:
- Mitigate Risks: Proactively identify and address potential issues related to component obsolescence (EOL), compliance, or supply chain disruptions.
- Ensure Compliance: Easily verify that components meet regulatory standards like RoHS and REACH, reducing legal and financial risks.
- Find Alternatives: Quickly identify suitable cross-references for parts, ensuring continuity of supply and offering competitive solutions.
- Improve Efficiency: Access crucial data directly within your workflow, saving time and reducing the need to switch between different platforms.
