What is it?
A process to export ("dump")your Buymanager database and restore it.
Why do you need it?
- To create database backups for safety
- To transfer the database to another system
- To restore data in case of system issues
- For database maintenance and updates
Prerequisites
- Administrator account access to Buymanager
- Sufficient disk space (3 times the database size: one for the current database, one for the copy, one for the temporary files that will be created during the export - temporary files will need the space only during the export )

- All users must be disconnected from Buymanager (see how to disconnect all users here)
- Basic understanding of database operations
How it works
Step 1: Disconnect All Users
- Open Buymanager to get to the login page
- Click "More..."
- Select "Who is connected"
>If users are connected, let them know to save their work and not reconnect until you are done.
- you can also Disconnect all users.
- Return to "More..." menu
- Select "Activate license"
- Type: `DisconnectAllUsers`
- Click "Activate licenses" repeatedly until you see confirmation
- Note: Click equal to the number of active licenses (e.g., 5 clicks for 5 licenses)
Step 2: Export Database
A. Start Export Process
- Open Buymanager to get to the login page
- Click "New connection..."
- Verify database information
- Click "Next"
B. Select Export Options
- Choose the target database
- Click "Zip database"
- Select export type:
* "Mails and documents" (Recommended) - Complete backup
* "Documents" - Database with documents only
* "Mails" - Database with emails only
* "None of them" - Basic database only
- Note: Full backup may take longer depending on the database size
C. Complete Export
- The system will automatically open the folder with the exported zip file
- Save backup file in a secure location
Step 3: Restore Database (If Needed)
1. Initialize Restore
- Start Buymanager
- Click "New connection..."
- Verify database information
- Click "Next"
2. Create New Database
- Click "New Data Database"
- Enter database name (e.g., "recover_database").
- Note: Use lowercase letters, no spaces
3. Complete Restoration
- Click the "Magnifier" icon
- Select backup file
- Click "Install database."
- Click "Next" to finish
Important Notes
- Ensure sufficient disk space before starting
- Use lowercase letters in database names and no spaces
- Full backup (with mails and documents) is recommended
- Backup process duration depends on the database size
- Keep backup files in a secure location

- Successfully created database backup
- Ability to restore the database when needed
- All selected data (mails, documents) included in the backup
