Buymanager allows you to create and manage technical specifications for parts by purchasing family. This feature enables you to:
- Define technical specifications at the family level
- Assign these specifications to individual parts
- Include technical specifications in RFQs (Requests For Quotation) sent to suppliers

How it works
Managing Technical Features for Families
1. Go to the "Parts-Prices" of your Buymanager
Click on "families", select a family, and open it.
2. Go to the "technical carac." section
3. Enter the wording of the new technical feature in the "key in a new technical characteristic" field
4. Click the "Add" button
5. If necessary, change the type of information contained in the feature you just created, via the "type" column
Managing Technical Features for Parts
1. Add technical features to a part
- Open the part and go to the "technical carac." section
- Enter the wording of the new technical feature in the "key in a new technical characteristic" field
- Click the "Add" button
- If necessary, change the type of information contained in the feature you just created, via the "type" column
- Specify the value corresponding to the technical feature in the "Value" column
2. Update a family's technical features from a part
- Open the part and go to the Technical Characteristic section
- Click on "templatel" >> "Define as a template for" >> Select the family to update
Including Technical Features in RFQs
For this feature, some admin rights may be needed to be able to modify the RFQ templates.
1. Open your RFQ template
2. Go to the tab "Data" on your menu, on the link
3. Click the "Add a Complementary Information" button.
3. Define the information code and the multi-language label for the new field.
4. Define the Information Type:
Note: If it's a technical characteristic, the code must match the technical characteristic's code created above.
Note: If it's a "cost" type of information, you can specify if these costs are amortizable or not.
Note: If it's "calculated information by formula," you can define the formula later.
