What is it?
A feature to combine duplicate entries in Buymanager. A tool to enable you to merge duplicate parts, suppliers or manufacturer data. A method to maintain a clean and organized database.
Note:
- To merge sources, see dedicated article.
- To merge parts when uploading BOMs, in Auto Search, see dedicated article.
Why do you need it?
- To eliminate duplicate entries in the database
- To consolidate information from multiple entries into one
- To maintain data integrity and accuracy
- To improve database efficiency and searchability
Note: DO NOT DELETE any data, to keep the integrity of the database.
Prerequisites
- Administrator account access to Buymanager
- Understanding of which entries need to be merged
- Knowledge of which data should be kept as primary
- For supplier merging: Remove related linecards first if present

B. Merging Suppliers/Manufacturers
Important Note before starting the supplier merge:

- If yes, remove the linecard first (Path: open suppliers > go to "Distri-Mfg")
- This prevents the "foreign key constraint fails" error

Important Reminders
- Never delete data manually to maintain database integrity
- All historical information will be preserved in the merge
