Important Notes
- Version 5.3+ no longer supports 32-bit
- Backup your data before updating
- Server must be updated before clients

- We strongly recommend that the update is done by your Admin/ IT
How it works
Pre-Update Tasks
1. Verify all users are disconnected
Start Buymanager to get to the login page
Check Current Connections
Click "More..."
Select "Who is connected?"
2. Ensure sufficient disk space
3. If you were on a 32-bit version of Buymanager:
- Change "Buymanager.exe" to "Buymanager_64.exe" path in the task scheduler for ERP import.
To do so, go to your Windows Task Manager and find the Buymanager task. Open it > Action > Change the Buymanager install parth to "Buymanager_64.exe" in Programme/script

Note: After the update, you can delete the old folder "Buymanager" and keep only the "Buymanager 64"
Update on your Server first:
The update needs to be done on the server before you update any clients (users computer)
1. Download the latest installer from here
2. Save the installer in the Buymanager folder. If you already did upgrades previously, you will find the previous installer (.exe files) there
Note: Be sure every user is disconnected before starting the update (see above)
3. Run the installer as Administrator
4. Follow the setup wizard:
a. Select language
b. Confirm installation location (Note: If you saved the installer in the correct folder, you should not need to change the location)
c. Choose your "Existing database" from the dropdown list
d. Select target database
e. Click "Next"
f. Click "update" to update the database to the newest version (cannot be undone)
g. Check if you want to display an icon on the desktop and start menu.
h. Press "done"
5. Configure Database Settings:
a. Run Buymanager on your Server Application
b. You will be prompt to the license agreement, which you can accept (if you have any questions, please contact our support team: helpdesk@buymanager.biz)
c. Fill out the Database information :
- Server: [Database Server IP/Name]
- Port: 3306 (MySQL)or 4900 (hyperfile) (Note: hyperfile is possible to use, but not supported by our teams).
- Login: [Database account]
- Password: [Database password]
- For users of MySQL version 8 only: check the MySQL Version box. If you are using an earlier version, such as MySQL 5.7, do not check the box.

After the update is done, run the Buymanager application >> Check the version on the bottom right corner.
Client Update:
For existing Installations:
1. On your users' posts (need to be done on each post), run Buymanager_64.exe as Administrator
2. Accept the automatic update prompt
Note: If the update doesn't run automatically, it means that your Buymanager Client application is not installed correctly. (see below to process with new installation)
For new Installations:
Process to install Buymanager on the client side: copy the files from the server, "INSTALL.exe" and "INSTALL" folder, to the client computer. Execute the "INSTALL.exe" to install Buymanager on the client side.
For a new user, you will need to activate the license.
- Open Buymanager > on the login page click more > Activate license > Enter: `ChangeConnection` > Click "Activate licenses"
- Configure database connection:
- Server: [Database Server IP/Name]
- Port: 3306 (MySQL)or 4900 (hyperfile) (Note: hyperfile is possible to use, but not supported by our teams).
- Login: [Database account]
- Password: [Database password]
- For users of MySQL version 8 only: check the MySQL Version box. If you are using an earlier version, such as MySQL 5.7, do not check the box.

- Choose your "Existing database" from the dropdown list
d. Select target database
e. Click "Next"
If you are installing for a new user, do not forget to activate the license as well:
Open Buymanager > on the login page, click More> Activate license > Enter the text of the license that was sent to you > click Activate licenses.
Post Update:
- Delete any old "Buymanager" folder 32-bit if you still have one
- Verify the version of your application (see above)
- Test your database connectivity (open a deal, refresh pricing)
- During the following week , confirm that ERP import tasks are working
Common Troubleshooting
- Error "executable in use": it means that some instances of Buymanager are still running. To proceed with the update, all instances must be closed and all users must be disconnected.
- Error when extracting <file name> : it means you do not have the right permission to access the file. You need to check the read/write permission of the Windows account used to process the update against the Buymanager Installation directory.
