This guide describes the process to install a new database and activate a licence in Buymanager.
Why is this Needed?
- You must activate a new licence each time your contract with Buymanager is renewed or to activate additional modules.
- You may want to install a new database for test, separate module or after a cleaning.
- New databases may be needed for first-time use or when the current database grows too large.
Prerequisites
- Buymanager installed and operational
- Licence files from the Buymanager team
- The database file you wish to use (the Buymanager team will provide an empty database for first-time customers)
- Administrator rights on Buymanager

Installing a New Database: Step-by-Step Guide
- Start Buymanager on your server.
Open the drop-down menu and select “New connection”.
- On server setup:
- Enter the localhost IP:
127.0.0.1 - Port:
3306 - Enter your MySQL login and password (e.g., Buymanager/Buymanager)
- If you use MySQL version 8.4, check the respective box; leave unchecked for MySQL 5.7.
- Click Next.
- Enter the localhost IP:
4. Click “New database” and provide a name (no spaces or special characters).
5. Click the magnifying glass symbol to browse and select your database ZIP file.
6. Click “Install database”.
IMPORTANT:
- The database name must not contain spaces or special characters.
During installation, do not let your computer/server enter sleep or screensaver mode, or data may not install correctly even if no error is shown.
Activating a New Licence
- Open Buymanager.
- Click “More”.
3. Click “Activate licence”.
4. Copy the licence text, paste it into the window, and click “Activate licences”.
