This feature allows you to search for manufacturer part numbers (MPNs) using Buymanager's WebQuote services and easily create or update article sources. It is particularly useful when you receive BOMs with incorrect or missing customer-approved sources.

Why do you need it?

- Quickly correct erroneous manufacturer references (MPNs) in customer BOMs
- Add missing sources to articles without MPNs
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date article database
- Save time during future imports of BOMs from the same customer

Prerequisites and audience

- All Buymanager users with access to the WebQuote service
- No special administrative rights required
- Particularly useful for buyers and BOM preparation specialists

Use cases

Use case 1: Correcting a customer source
- When you correct a customer source, during the next BOM import for the same customer, you'll be able to find the customer article through its customer reference or description
- In the costing process, you'll directly find the previously corrected source

Use case 2: Adding a missing source
- If you have a customer BOM with articles missing MPNs, you can perform a search via WebQuote and add the found source to the article
- During the next BOM import for the same customer, you'll be able to find the customer article through its customer reference or description
- In the costing process, you'll directly find the previously added source

This feature helps maintain a consistent and accurate article database while optimizing the time spent on BOM preparation and costing.
