What is WebQuote?

Prerequisites
- Buymanager software installed
- Valid WebQuote activation key
- Access rights to the costing module
Key Features
- Select your settings: choose the suppliers for which you want to get a price.
Select to include the mini-reel price in the Unit Price or not (see more about the mini-reel price here)
2. Click on the WebQuote logo to launch the search on all the line of the costing,
or right-click on a line to launch the WebQuote on the selected line(s) only
3. On the WebQuote pop-up windows, you can find an overview of your search.
Here you can filter again the distributors, as well as the packaging, for which you wish to get a price.
You can also save your filters by clicking "set as default" or choosing your previously saved settings:
4. Verify your MPN with prices and validate
The tool will automatically select part numbers when the MPN matches at 100%. Here you can quickly verify if the selected line(s) are linked to the correct manufacturer.
Indeed, even if it´s rare, it can happen that 2 manufacturers are using the same MPN. A quick review of only the "manufacturer" column, for the lines with 100% relevance, can help spot such a case.
Once you have verified your search, you can confirm and close.
Note: some supplier API will not send all data (notably the stock available, negotiated prices) immediately. For those API (notably Digikey and RS), the rest of the data will be sent only after validation. All data sent by the API will be visible after the validation on the costing directly.
During the WebQuote process, you will only check the MPN with the price. For the MPN without price or article without MPN, see "solution alternative"
On the costing, you can click on the "+" of each line or on "expand" on top of the table to expand the price for each line item. WebQuote pricing will appear with the prefix "WQ"
5. Update your prices
Once a WebQuote search has been launched, the results found will be stored in the cache by Buymanager. This will allow you to access the price more quickly should you keep working on the costing at a later time.
However, should you want to get the real-time pricing or get a price for a new quantity, you can update the pricing.
Two possibilities:
- On the WebQuote pop-up windows
- On the costing, right-click and choose WebQuote > Update price
