What is it?
A function to calculate mini reel prices for specific component quantities. A tool to help you include repackaging costs from major suppliers.
- Available for DigiKey, Farnell, Mouser, and Future Electronics

Why do you need it?
- To get accurate pricing for quantities smaller than standard reel sizes
- To calculate repackaging fees automatically
- To optimize component costs for small quantity orders
- To compare mini reel prices across different suppliers

Prerequisites
- Active Buymanager account
- WebQuote access rights
- Valid RQT account for settings configuration (admin: see here)
- Access to the costing module

How it works

1. Basic Mini Reel Calculation

- Formula for DigiKey, Mouser, Farnell:
Final Price = Unit Price + (Mini Reel Fee / Quantity)

- Applies only to price where the required quantity, the Minimum Package Quantity (MPQ), data is available

Screenshot 2025-06-06 at 16.13.56.png
- Future Electronics uses a different calculation method

- Distributors have different Minimum Order Quantities (MOQs) for their mini-reels
         - DigiKey: MOQ = 1
        - Mouser: MOQ = 1
        - Farnell: MOQ = 10 or 150 (depends on "Minimum" field)
        - Future: MOQ = 2

> Calculation on the costing:

     - If the required quantity <MOQ, the system will automatically use the MOQ value
     - If the required quantity > MOQ, the system will use the actual required quantity

Examples:
Required Quantity = 5 . Supplier MOQ Digikey = 1
Results: price calculated for exactly 5 units.

Required Quantity = 5 . Supplier MOQ Farnell = 10
Results: price calculated for 10 units.

Advanced Features

1. Basic copy process with mini-reel price:

    - Perform a WebQuote search in the source costing

    - Copy prices from the source costing to other costings

    - The system will prompt you to update the mini-reel prices to update them to the required quantities

Note: If you choose not to update the pricing, the pricing will be copied with mini-reel pricing from the copied quantity.

Note: if the costing being copied doesn´t include mini-reel prices, the update message will not be displayed.

- When dealing with multiple quantities for the same source (i.e in aggregated costing):

          - Only one line will appear in WebQuote view

          - Multiple prices will be displayed based on quantities in the costing

          - Mini-reel prices will be quantity-specific

A. Free Mini Reel Setup:

1. Log into the RQT account (https://accountrqt.buymanager.biz/)
2. Access settings
3. Check "Check this box if the fee does not apply."

Important Notes

- Future Electronics has a specific currency limitation. They support the mini-reel prices in Euro, USD, GBP, CAD only. Other currencies won't calculate mini reel prices
- Settings can be different for each user
- Settings can be configured at both the user and costing levels

-Mini reel cost will be calculated only for parts with a requirement quantity < MPQ (MPQ = Packing Qty

- When using "get prices" from a sub-deal, the destination costing (main deal) will inherit the mini-reel settings from the source costing.

- When creating a consolidated or aggregated costing, if any source costing has mini-reel enabled, the new consolidated/aggregated costing will automatically enable mini-reel. This will not affect the other original costings integrated.
