This guide helps you identify and resolve common issues when WebQuote searches fail to return results, despite the service appearing to work (orange cloud showing).

Common issues and solutions
Too many concurrent users
Suppliers like Farnell and Digikey limit the number of simultaneous requests across all Buymanager customers.

MPN with specific characters not recognized
This issue has been resolved in recent Buymanager releases.

MPN too short
Provide more complete information for the MPN
Description too long
Use shorter descriptions for searches (keep only important information)
DigiKey login issues
If DigiKey shows in orange for the "do not respond" status:
1. Open the Webquote settings :
- either from the application settings > User > Webquote
- or from a costing, under the Webquote button, click on the arrow symbol
2. Click the login button to authenticate with DigiKey
4. Complete the login process on the DigiKey website
General connectivity issues
If all settings appear correct but WebQuote still doesn't work:
1. Check that your network connection (WiFi, LAN, WAN) is working properly
2. Verify that port 443 has been opened by your IT.
Go to the website: https://rqt.buymanager.biz
If you see a message "unauthorized access", this is normal. This means the port is open, you just do not have the permission to access our page.
However, if you see the message "hmmm, can´t reach this page", it means that port 443 isn´t open. Please contact your IT to (re)open the port for your company. .
No price results during a WebQuote search
If you see results in the Webquote pop-up page but no prices:
1. Check the Distributor/Packaging filter settings
- If filters are empty, all results will be filtered out
- Ensure appropriate filters are selected
2. Check your currency settings
Verify the currency exists in Buymanager
> To check/add currencies:
- Start Buymanager with an Administrator account
- Click on "Application settings"
- Click on Global >> Data settings >> Currency
No results during a WebQuote search
1. Verify WebQuote services are blue and ticked
2. For DigiKey, ensure you're logged in (see above)
3. Check if the MPN contains unmanaged special characters by the supplier API ((Example: LP5562TMX/NOPB on MyArrow or Digikey APIs)) and remove them if necessary
By following these troubleshooting steps, you should be able to resolve most WebQuote search issues and successfully retrieve pricing information.
